Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Otter.news handles information for the Otter.news website and the Otter.news iOS alpha distributed through Apple TestFlight.

Information We Collect

The Otter.news website does not currently ask you to create an account, submit a form, or provide personal information directly.

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, and similar server log data. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.

If you join or use the Otter.news iOS alpha through TestFlight, Apple and Otter.news may receive beta testing information through TestFlight, including installation status, app version, device and operating system details, app sessions, crash logs, usage information, and any feedback, screenshots, or comments you choose to submit through TestFlight.

How We Use Information

TestFlight

The Otter.news alpha is distributed through Apple TestFlight. Apple states that crash logs and usage information for beta apps are automatically collected by Apple and shared with the app provider, and that feedback you submit through TestFlight may also be shared with the app provider. Public-link testers may have less identifying information shown to the app provider than testers invited directly by email.

Apple’s handling of TestFlight data is described by Apple in its TestFlight privacy information and TestFlight Terms of Service.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the website or alpha, with Apple through TestFlight, when needed to protect rights and security, or when required by law.

Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating the service, improving the alpha, resolving bugs, maintaining security, and complying with legal obligations. TestFlight data may also be retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies.

Your Choices

You can stop participating in the alpha by deleting the TestFlight app build from your device or leaving the TestFlight beta. Some TestFlight beta testing data is collected automatically by Apple when you use a beta app. You can choose whether to submit written feedback, screenshots, or comments through TestFlight.

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us at privacy@otter.news. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Children

Otter.news is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International Users

Otter.news is operated from the United States. If you use the website or alpha from another location, information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when the latest version became effective.
